I herd about a woman in Montana getting chewed on a while back when she was swimming. That's the only one I've heard of. Every time I see these animals I agree with you. I deeply regret trapping them thirty years ago. I'm posting a link to the otter attack story.. Damn..those women were righteously chewed up. I have to imagine there was *something*
that triggered those otters to attack..no idea what. No matter, as common sense always says
don't go messing around with wild critters.

Ron, that was a long time ago..times and attitudes were different, and so were we. Older
and wiser now, we see things in retrospect to today's attitudes about animals. Live and
learn, I guess, and if we knew then what we know now, things might have been different.

Years ago on Kelly Creek in Idaho we were fishing where Clayton Creek dumps in. There is a large deep hole there and some pretty impressive rapids dumping into the hole. All of a sudden we see 2 upside down inflatable rafts/boats coming down the rapids into the pool. Not far behind 2 yahoos swimming their asses off trying not to drown. They were drunk and one had the $hit bit out of him by an otter.
We helped them as best we could to get up the bank and they we headed back the way they came, one guy chewed up and bleeding. Duh.

The women in that article were drinking also. That's it..the otters are after the booze!!

Once every few years the creeks around here will dry up. They get 10 feet high 2-3 times a year when it floods.
