I found this buckle on an old homesite from the 1790's. It is pretty big, therefore I dont think its a belt buckle. (4 inches by 2 3/4 inches The middle piece comes up about and inch) Thanks in advance I did clean it up as you can see by the first picture. Maybe brass?
