I tried a soybean field that Scrappy and I decided not to do. I found only a buckle and trash there. I went to another spot where Joe had found his first Real, there are many fields so I tried one that I have never been in before, not the one Joe was in. I found a pretty pottery shard as soon as I got out of the truck. A little while later I heard a faint sweet sound, went deep with my shovel and popped a Large out of the plug. The other day when Scrappy and I were hunting I found Hannibal's mask and a vampire spike. I also have found a few of those threaded aluminum caps that have that scroll looking marl in the center, I was wondering if anyone knows what it is?
Enjoy the pix (I'm going to attempt to get fancy)

Congratualtions on the relic and old copper hunt! :occasion14:

Congrats on some nice finds. The bottom pic makes an old man dizzy

Fields are a great place for old coppers but they treat them so badly. That aluminum cap is a neat find. I tried to find it on the net but no luck Brad. Congrats!

Very nice Brad. For a farm field that copper could have been much worse. Nice spike too

Congrats on a successful day!
I might need to try multiple places someday. I usually go to my main target for the day and just stay there. :dontknow:

One of these days, it'll be something fertilizer does not hurt, thanks Steve.

I was just in the mood, also scouting around. So many fields, so little time, lol Thanks
Wish I had a helicopter, better yet beam me over Scotty. I wonder how long it would take me to pick up Dave, then meet up with you? I might not have those other two modes of travel but I have my trusty CRV.

That reminds me of a joke:

"ALRIGHT! Scotty! Very funny!! Now beam down my clothes!!" :tongue3:

Nice finds Brad! I am not sure what the aluminum lid was used for but the scroll lettering gives the name of the Company that made it (i.e. looks like "P" over "L" then "Co" or "L" over "P" then "Co"). If you straighten the top of the lid, hopefully the letters will be easier to decipher.

I think it's going to give me a seizure if I look at it too much. :laughing7:

Congrats on pulling that LC Brad. :occasion14: Did you use the hot peroxide on that coin?

Thanks, now I can't wait until I find a silver and can do that, especially one from fresh water, lol

Thanks. From the ground I just put it in my safe pocket, then using a tiny brush after I got back in the truck I lightly brushed off the dry dirt, then same when I got home, just a little bit at a time with brush. After all those pix I put it in cold peroxide for about an hour and wet brushed it lightly, changed the cold peroxide repeat, then wax, done last pic.

Thanks buddy
