large cent find

Found this little beauty snuggled up next to a tree very worn on face I can see bust of what looks like a woman and looks like a 74 as last two digits in date on back can kinda make out circle and word one

I've often thought the very same thing.

Its a shame so many of them come out of the ground toasted. But they are still fun to find even in that condition. Congrats!

Nice find, but it's not a 74 LC because they only made them between 1793-1857 and the bust looks like a Liberty Head so that puts it between 1816-1857.
