Went back to the farm site for a couple hours this afternoon. I found an 1855 large cent with pretty heavy corrosion. Also an old flat button that says "Imperial Stand. London" on the back. I find another cast iron "spear point". I think They must have been part of a fence or something. Any help on the brass bracket thing would be appreciated.

Congrats on all the finds. The piece with the holes is a heel plate, for reinforcement of the sole.

Well done on getting #5 from the site.
Heel plate has walked a few long miles, cool finds.
The spear pointy item might be the final off the top of a rod iron gate or fence (decoration/security)

Thanks for the ID. I was wondering if it had something to do with a shoe but wasn't certain since I have never found one.

Nice finds GREAT PICTURES !!! Thanks for SHARING 111

5th LC from that site- just awesome! Think about how many metal detectorists there are who will never find one!

yes, like me. Never found one and because of my location, probably never will. So for all those on the forum who might find one and say something like 'oh, just another large cent', just remember some of us would LOVE to dig one.

I never thought I would find one either. I found my first one last year after detecting for six years. Now I have found six in the last year.

Those points look prehistoric...(just kidding). But you did manage a date on the large cent...and the button is nice...were you able to figure out the wording...at first glance it looks like "London"....yes it does say that...if only I would read the post thoroughly.... you've got a good spot to hunt... :)

I LOVE finding Large Cents MAYBE some day i will find another one LOL

Great finds! Congratulations! Thanks for sharing.

Congrats. Those large cents are a thrill. I would throw that one in a rock tumbler to possibly get some detail and a date.
