Had to take advantage of the nice weather today but unfortunately goose season is in full swing so I still have to wait on access to some new fields. The fields I found the two Spanish silvers in this fall arent hunted so they were my best option. Not much left but got another toasted large copper that was holed. This is now the 5th large copper from these fields. All toasted:BangHead: Only one button, thimble fragment, lead, some spur pieces, and lots of canslaw rounded out the finds.

Congrats on your finds.

Thanks. I was thinking it was hammered above a doorway for good luck. Pretty common practice back then I believe. Makes for a cool story at least so thats what Im going with

A holed copper - very nice. Always love those old coppers with a story. Maybe they re-used it as a button. It certainly looks that way.

Interesting finds. I would think mid 1800's from the nail shape.

Congratulations on the nice finds! :occasion14:
