Large peculiar metal object found on welsh rock cove

Looks like a finial from iron fire grate or maybe iron gate?

What is the white on it? Paint? That stye attachment is suggestive of cast iron bathtub leg attachments. Can't see that as a tub leg, though. ???

I vote for a finneal. Maybe from an cast iron bed frame, or an iron grate as deepsecrets suggested.

What about an old (bigass!) lamp elevator counterweight... all kinds of shapes were used once.

I think you got it Matt, after seeing your post I just remembered I have a couple of those also. The bottom isn't identical, but they probably varied a bit. Great ID! :thumbsup:
