I found this beautiful quarts and found some very pretty stuff that looks like gold but after my musidentification I thought I would ask. There is some between every crack. I can take pics closer up to everything if need be.

Have you tried crushing and panning a piece? If not, take a piece of quartz that isn't so overly attractive, crush it and pan. How the gold-colored material acts in your pan should distinguish it pretty well from other things.

I like the color - that's promising.

...And welcome to Tnet! :hello:

Gold or pyrite. If the gold colored material is relatively soft and can be dented with something solid it's likely gold. Pyrite is brittle and breaks off in flakes under direct pressure in most cases.

Fools Gold got a lot of them back in the day in the Gold country.
Gold looks like gold in any light.
Pyrite shines gold in good light and not in dim light.
Gold, Pyrite and quartz do live together.
Good luck....

From the pictures, I would say you have pyrite there. I base this on the apparent bright reflectivity and color of the material. The easiest way to find out would be to scrape a little bit of the material off. Pyrite is a brittle, flaky material which will come off in flakes and break easily if you scrape a little off with a needle or other instrument. Pyrite is also usually very shiny. Whereas gold is highly malleable and usually a dull yellow which is not very reflective at all. If it is gold, it should not come apart as easily as pyrite and definitely should not flake. If you apply a little pressure, gold should bend rather than break.
