Luck was on side, they just deep ploughed 'The Barley Stubble Field', the one we gained permission this year & had our best finds from

I did 7 hours & Dad did about 5 hours & helped with a few Roman Coins & buttons, I had 4 Hammered :headbang:

Not any hammered, but my first (of any King/Queen) Shilling of Charles I - 1644-5 under parliament ;D
Sterling Imitation of Ed I
Poor Sixpence
Penny of Henry (?)

10 Roman Bronze Coins
Lead Tokens
17th C Tokens
Jettons
Rose Farthing

What would have been a nice Medieval Spur Rowel :)

A few buttons & bits...

Dad got our first Halfcrown this year & for awhile I thought I had level pegged him, well at least I level pegged him with a Shilling, plus I've got something to aim for :icon_thumright:

Shaun7 & I went over this spot when it was stubble, proves why we like the deep ploughs which are rare nowadays, but this farmer still continues it (more years than not) 8)

Wow, Very nice. I do have a question for you. What books, internet, reference materials do you use to identify your finds. A long time ago when I was in the military I found some old coins big ones small ones, 1 hammered silver, some the size of a pencil eraser. But I have only been able to identify a dozen of these coins. The small ones especially are puzzling to me. Any information would really help me to id these coins. Thanks.

Where do I start, I have a library running into ££££s, as some books are £100-£250 each. If they are all English coins, I could recommend a book (about £30), easier still post good pictures on the 'What Is it' & they will be solved in minutes.
