Beach & Shallow Water Hunting
My last day of metal detecting for (my) season in Florida was today. This morning I had to choose between a small local beach a few minutes away or travel 45 minutes to a popular west coast Florida beach. My wife wanted me to hunt the local beach since we have a lot of packing to do. I chose the further away popular beach and sure glad I did.

A 4-hour water hunt nabbed me a 10k yellow gold ring with garnet (?) stone weighing 1.85g. It registered a VID of “9” on my Nox 800 w 15” coil (Beach 2). The second ring is 14k white gold and it was deep and variable centering around a VID of 18- right where my zincs hit. It is a hunker at 10.87g. The third ring is 18k yellow gold and hit a solid VID of “15”– right where my pull tabs usually hit. It weighs 8.75g.This is the first 3 gold ring day I’ve had in several years if my memory is right and no one has ever said I was right in the head. Anyways, I’ve capped off another successful season of metal detecting the beaches of the Gulf of Florida or should I say Gulf of Mexico. Either way you look at it - it was a good day. Sure like seeing gold in the scoop...it beats drinking and gambling.

Happy Hunting

I'd say banner finds there sir. Hope I get that lucky. I'm still trying to find time to get my first water hunt of the season in.
