Well here we are.. the last evening on vacation. *heavy sigh* Alas, it's back to work in the morning and back to the old grindstone. But today was relaxing and rewarding. On my last day of vacation I went back to a county base ball park and cleaned up.. litterally. I picked up trash and junk and filled up at least two garbage cans while I was detecting. Not everything that went into the garbage was under the ground of course, most was on top of the ground. Anyway, I *DID* find some stuff underground, both junk and treasures.
Along with the usual pull tabs and bottle caps, and can slaw I found old car window frames, car body trim (chromed pot metal I think) various copper pipe pieces and fittings... and one cool little buckle.. Not sure how old it is, or what it may have come off of, it looks too delicate to have been a belt buckle. Here's a picture of it.. anyone got a clue or perhaps have seen one like it before??
I also found a Susan B. Anthony dollar among the trash and clad.. It's not cleaned up yet, but then nothing shown here is. <smile> Also, there was but one wheatie found, a 1958, and it looks to have been damaged perhaps by a lawn mower or something long before I found it. it's but a small nick but it's enough to mar the coin. *sigh*
Along with the Susan B. I found a total of $5.22 in clad.. not counting the Wheatie. Not a bad day while relaxing and enjoying my time off. <smile> I LOVE THIS HOBBY!
