Man i had a bunch of buddies that started calling me perv and it stuck some how so i use it as a name on the internet lol. So a spike just out of curiosity what would they use it for?

A spike was used in the Woodland period I do believe.

Mine has some serrations on the tip. My guess like a gouge or to flesh out a hide. It is a wicked tool that could be be held in the hand for many task. Does mine look a little like yours? They are wild looking and you do not see them often.

I always thought a spike was a type of a point made in the Woodland Period?

The one you have is huge compared to what i found what i found is probably the size of a pencil and probably only a few inches long

Its a pencil drill. I looked it up. I have never seen one like Tn M has, but I want one.

I looked it up after you said that and the one i saw was from the archaic period i wonder if this could also b from that period

Yea the one Tn has is huge and would b nice to add to a collection

Look at the site listed under my response and see what they say about them. I just looked and it doesnt say on that type. It says they were used in all times. The only way you can know is if it was a point base drill.
