Last Night's Silver Dime Hunt

I went for a quick hour and half hunt before dark last night. Old house site, under the big trees.

The Deus found a couple of clad coins, and some trash... then a deep faint high tone, if the place didn't look so good, I would have passed on the signal, about 7" down the pinpointer indicated that there was a target near by... out comes a 1945 Merc. I plod along a bit further and get an odd mid/high tone, with multiple numbers flashing... the nickel number flashed, so, since I have never dug a buffalo, I started digging... out comes a '41 Jefferson, too new to be a buff to old to be a war nickel...damn. I rescan the hole and a perfect silver dime signal rings out, a big smile curls across my face... I dig down about 1" and out comes a '48 Rosie... the nickel was on top of the dime. I was lucky to find that one.

I also dug a '57 nickel, '57 wheatie, junk ring, #5 play money token and little Great Seal button.

Silver coins #32 and #33 YTD.
Thanks for looking and good luck!

2 silver dimes is a good day in my book!

That is a very good day for only an hour and a half. Good job. HH WH

Nice finds, I have been eyeballing the Dues hope to add that to the arsenal this winter. HH!

Hello Carolina Tom.................you are becoming quite proficient with your XP Deus. Congratulations on yet another multiple silver hunt. You are quickly closing in on Steve and I for the YTD silver count.

A great Evening Imo.

Almost Forgot how it feels to Dig a Silver Coin.

I think it was in Jan or Feb, of this year But it was a Good one.
Also found my First & only Buff, Nickel this year.

This Makes me want to break out the Detector & go hit some yards.

Got Permission to Hunt Church site ( Newer 1970's Church) But the land had A-lot of CW Activity , I hit it some on the day that I got permission but it's been So dry ( the last rain over 2 Tenths of an inch was on Sept 11) found a couple clad Cents & some Beaver Tail Pull Tabs at around 3-5 inches , just too hard to cut a nice plug in such dry Rocky Soil.

I know the areas been hunted so I hope for maybe a Gold Ring within all the Tabs & Can Slaw & Maybe a Older Surprise .

Hello Jay. Hope all is well. Thanks for the props. I was really happy with my results last night. I really like the Deus.

You and Steve are well ahead of me in the YTD Silver Department. With your pending trip to "yankeeland", the two of you's should bring home a bunch of silver. I am excited for you.

I found a good spot to hunt, the coins are not easy, but I have found 7 silvers there so far. I always say that there are no more there, then another turns up. Maybe a few more will appear, we will see.

nice digs!..still searching for my 1st merc.,sometimes I think they run from my coil.lol

Great silver coin finds "for a quick hour and half hunt" Tom! :occasion14:
Too bad it isn't like that every time out!

Dave

Very nice finds Tom. Don't worry about them coming to Yankeeland. As soon as a Reb crosses the Mason-Dixon Line, they hide the silver lol. Keep up the good work!

Hey Tom-I TOLD you that the next hunt out would yield multiple silvers!! lol..anyway..cool silvers, congrats on a fine hunt..ddf

Nice silvers, amigo!! Congrats

Congrats! You keep stacking them silvers! As far as Yankeeland (sounds like an ill advised amusement park) we know when they came down here to loot us after The War Of Northern Aggression we called then carpet baggers, wonder what they'll call us after we return the favor - 150 years later? All is fair in love, war and treasure huntin"

Now thats a happy day of MD'ing. Great saves!
