I posted this on coin roll hunting . last night I noticed that in the prase of USOFA. The OF is capitalized on the first 3 in the series of pennies. the last of the series the of is in small letters . never seen a lower case f on any penny. sorry do not have pic but have 4 rolls of them all the same.what up with that . :dontknow: :coffee2:sorry that would be the of in the 2009 presidency series that has lower case "of " sorry about confusion.

What is the picture on the back of the penny? I have quite a few. If you tell me which one I will go look in my collection.

Ok let me go look. I'll post a picture of mine.

sweet my camera dose not get enough detail thaks Rob :coffee2:

No I think that is the way they were minted. I grabbed 2 out of my bag and both of them had the lower case of..I can just about bet you that there are some errors on that new penny, but i haven't found them yet. I do know about the 2 older series..The log Cabin and the Lincoln Boyhood penny. They had errors. I will do some searching an see what i can come up with on this new series. I will let you know. zaxfire69

Here is a website with some of the 2009 penny errors with pictures. Doesn't show the newest penny, but it does show some of the other 2 series of new pennies. Hope it helps you some. I have only found one of the error pennies. Mine is the Lincoln boy hood with the extra thumb. ...WDDR-008...

BUT ALL THE OTHERS ARE CAPITAL OF. That is what makes it an error like vdb or no vbs aye. :dontknow:

The older cents with Monticello on the back have a lower-case "of." It's probably a case of stylistic-choice. If every coin from a particular series looks the same, then it's not going to be an error, sorry! :-[

Definitely NOT an error.

You can see in this picture that this is the way these coins were designed.

It may be different from the other designs, but this just happens to be the way the designer chose to do the type.

If you have Monticello on a penny that would be a major error.

Nothing on it being a error coin. All of my Lincoln 4 coin Proof sets has the same style. I removed them from my shop displays when someone mentioned it to me..Good Luck

Oops! Sorry, good catch. That would be the Lincoln Memorial. :icon_thumleft:

I just found a 2009 Lincoln penny with the Lincoln Memorial on the reverse! I have searched all over the Internet to see about this error (since 2008 was the last year with the Memorial) and can't find anything.

Has anyone heard of this error coin?
