Hello T-Net , Inspired by all your current finds :o Had to get out of my system , a last time detecting effort to close out 2009. Had time off , so combined Sun 12-27-09, Monday 12-28-09 and today and returned to go over some of the old ground .1780's location , mill work area , and a steep stream bank provided end of the year finds. I hope you all enjoy. Dec 26 ..24 hours of rain melted 15 inches of snow so I was hoping for ideal soil conditions for maybe a deeper, missed relic or coin . A bit muddy & cold , but still felt great to get out after a 3 weeks . Found , a jews harp ,matching set of colonial cuff links ,found in different locations apart from each other , long lost ,1808 Matron Large Cent ,dug just in time, for a new decade , mystery date coins " make out the 1719 on one , a 1797 half cent One over One C-1 real fine looking , struck over a 1794 Allum Lee & Talbot colonial , a Vermont, 1787 Vermon Auctori facing RT Inde Etlib on rev., , 2 180? in poor shape ,a 179 ??? pitted , part of a toy or real gun ? Wet soil was a blessing! Looks like a warm summer day ,but all the green in the first picture are holly & laurel bush "45 degrees "and a stream is 10 foot below the trees. This stream was part of a canal with water wheel mill .Closed down 1890's ,a local trading, commerce area . For anyone interested in rarity value. If the 1797 halfcent had a gripped edge it would sell for good cond. - 8,000-11,000.. 1796 no pole , 25,000. i :o Pic #4 Old qt. whiskey bottle where it was left ,many years ago. A varmit tried to drag it in the hole :icon_scratch: Thanks and Lucky 2010

Congrats on those great finds, since you're going to try for a close-up on the Vermont for hogge can you take a close up of the 1797 liberty cap? looks like a beauty. Thanks for sharing

Now that's what we are talking about.

man thats what its all about! you went out with a huge bang. i dont know if it could get any better. simply incredible hunts. i would say you have a few banners there. i think i will stare at this post for a couple of months to get me threw the winter. willy

A really nice selection of coppers and finds, great site! :icon_thumright:

Excellent job, beautiful finds.

Man you did really well. Both the 93 & 97 half cents are better dates. It doesn't look like it in the pic but if the 97 has a gripped edge it could be worth in the thousands. I think one in good condition books for about $8,000. that's for the gripped edge though. The lettered edge about 1,000 and the other varities several hundred each in good condition. I think the 73 books for about 2,000 or so in good condition.
