First trip was with Charlie on last Saturday. He had got permission for me to hunt at two different sites from coworkers that live near Battleground, so Saturday afternoon we headed for the first one. Nice cut pasture with an old well. Looked very promising! I started the search and Charlie headed for a site that the owner had told him about to take a few pictures.

After two hours of hunting, I really had found nothing exciting. One little ornate piece and a hem weight. Need to go back and spend a little more time there.
Next site was from another coworker of Charlie's not too far from the first. Was told that the original home was from the 1800's and I was really looking forward to this trip! I get there, hunt for four hours and find one little tax token and a hand full of change.
The owner drives up and I ask him if there maybe had been fill dirt put there? He says, "No"...and then after a hesitation, he says, "Wait....yes there has...in the late 60's we had about a foot of dirt hauled in." :P I was very disappointed to hear it, after hunting TWO sites and not finding ANYTHING like I was expecting. I thought I was loosing it! :P The owner told me of an old well in the pasture next to his, and we rode out to see the site. It was evening and the cows were on the other side of the field. I immediately knew that when I came back to hunt it they would be on top of the hunt site, cause most cows rotate the field. Sure enough, the next morning I show up and the cows are alll over the site.
Naturally, they think I am there to feed them, and they won't go away for anything!
After four hours...found NOTHING to keep from there.
Thursday's trip was riding around with Lou's wife, Kathy and Terri. Kathy wanted to show us some new sites to hunt so most of the day was spent riding and talking. One little piece of play money and some change.
Saturday we got a wee bit of snow! Not like what I was expecting, but pretty non the less.
Here's Dillon looking out, wishing he was back out and playing in it.
Well, after a long dismal week of finds, I went down to a lot next to Charlie's Mom's place and hunted for about a half an hour. FINALLY got a keeper that made my heart beat a little faster.
That's last week...let's hope this next one is better!
Ya'll find somethin' good! Nana
