So here I have a combination of things that I found last week that are two of my favorite finds for totally different reasons. First, I found this decayed leather sack with 9 brass tags that all have a hole and say '492'. They look like miner's tags, but I found them next to an abandoned railroad, so I don't know what they are actually for, just that it's cool to have found them all like that. Then, last Tuesday, I pulled this nice little gold diamond ring out of a tiny park that was formed by the confluence of three roads. I'm not really sure how much it is worth, probably in the $200-$300 range. It just goes to show that you have got to dig every pull tab and nickel if you want to find gold.
