To tell you the truth I'm really not sure. I did a little ebay research and got what I thought was an average selling price. It sold 5 min. after I listed it! Now I'm kicking my self for not listing it higher. If someone jumped on it that quick it has to be worth more, buy hey I only paid $2.02 for it at Goodwill.

Good stuff there skfloyd. Your doing better than I am. I can't find any sterling flatware (or Danish for that matter) to save my life. Good luck and keep on digging.

It was a lucky week. Was on the way out the door when a long green box caught my eye, when I opened it there was this solid sterling fork still in plastic. Same goes for several other items I found. They just seemed to jump out at me the last minute. I'm still learning what to look for so hopefully the pickins will get better. If it weren't for internet on my phone I probably wouldn't have picked up near as much. Mobile research is great!

One of these days i'm gonna have to invest in one of those smart phones versus the $29.99 specials that I currently use! :laughing7: :laughing7:

They come in very handy, especially if your not sure about an item and need some quick research.

S. Kirk was a Baltimore MD competitor of Stieff. This is cut from the Stieff wiki
. . .
In 1979, The Stieff Company bought cross town rival, S. Kirk & Son. As a part of the purchase agreement, the Stieff's agreed that the Kirk name would go first on the newly created company... creating KIRK-STIEFF. The Kirk factory in Baltimore and a pewter factory in Salisbury MD were closed and operations consolidated into the Stieff factory at 800 Wyman Parkway in Baltimore. The Stieff family would continue to own Kirk-Stieff for 10 more years.
. . .end
To even be acknowledged as a rival of Stieff meant Kirk's materials and workmanship were of the highest quality. I don't know what kind of bet Stieff lost to let Kirk's name go first.
