Hit the Bay an hour or so before low tide. Wasn't finding much initially. I was out pretty deep but just mostly iron and some aluminum. I thought about calling it quits and heading on back to the car but the water felt good, surface of the water was pretty much glass and I figured ah, what the hell, it'll just be an exercise spin. I finally got into an area that actually had a few tgts and some lead (and a 2 lb dive weight) so I was hopeful and hit that spot pretty hard and bingo! 10K, 4.7 gram had a black stone with either the letter "W" or "M" depending hon how ya hold it. Didn't dig ONE coin which really surprised me, not that I'm complaining! I'll take 10K over crapped up beach clad ANY day of the week! Gold Ring #8 so far for this year. The opal looking thing was junk and I don't know what the brass rod is...maybe part of an old antenna? The bitter end looks like it would fit into another piece. Thanks for looking!

Sweet ring. Looks like you had to dig a lot of trash to get to the treasure.

Awesome! Congrats! Looks like an "M" but that's just me. Bet your glad you decided to take that last spin around the water!

What is the rock looking item just above the lead sinker?

Not sure about the rock just yet, pretty sure it was giving off a signal but it was dark out and I was in the water, when it doubt, throw it in the pouch and check it later. Gotten some nice "cookie" coins that way!

Good Hunt Doc and Congrads on Gold Number 8, and your right. With those 90 degree air temps that water sure is refreshing...

Sweet! I sometimes feel the best discoveries are made when I'm just about to call it quits but just keep on going a little longer - and then boom - treasure!

It does seem that way sometimes...had a few times when I was leaving the beach and on the way to the exit..bam! Silver ring or a pocket spill, and once this past year a $50 bill!. Always nice, especially if the hunt was less than stellar!
