Hard to tell but possibly early 1830s Matron Head large cent. Which way the bust faces is a good way to tell.
 

Looks like a LC. How a out a photo of the obverse. Then we can at least give a guess to the date

Large cent. Can't help with a date 1816-1857. Maybe someone can narrow it down.
 

no doubt it's a large cent. too bad the obverse is so beat up, but it's still an awesome find in my book
 

Looks early 1840's to me. Can't remember what the variety is called.

update - yeah, treblehunter had it in his post. I think it's Braided Hair.

Congrats! Maybe an olive oil soak would help with details on the L C. The Rosie is beautiful!
 

It's an interesting find because this is a. Middle school that was a high school until the seventies and according to history books there was a one room school house dating back to the 1800's one the site, I just started searching this old football field that is not used anymore because it slopes downhill , the rusted out goal posts are still there, going back today. Love this hobby!
