I've found a lot of seals but never one like this and I can't seem to find a spot that looks broken it seems like this is the entire piece

does not seem like a lead seal - might have been made as a game piece/chip
or maybe as a payment marker or token - chit for a free drink at a tavern

I've seen similar things like that around old railroad stations. They are made of lead too. They were baggage tags. I've seen them from the 1900-1910 period. That is what i would say you have. :)

I know what those are those are lead bail or cloth seals.. I've found many of those in different styles it's the flat piece I was talking about.
Yours like mine have the letters F.E.C. on them that stands for Florida East Coast railroad.

Well I don't think they are a seal of any sort. I'll do some looking to see what I can come up with. BTW they aren't cloth seals.

I'm telling you I've known what they are for many years I have many different types from many different places thanks for your input though take a minute and learn about them they're pretty cool and collectible

Your piece leaps out to me because that B counterstamp looks an awful lot like a B countrestamp I have on a worn smooth (maybe deliberately) silver coin of maybe 1600s to 1700s vintage. I think such pieces circulated in the Caribbean-- but yours is interesting because its on a lead piece. Was this found in the southeastern coastal US? If so may be from the Caribbgean...and I agree, could be a gaming piece.

It was found right near the coast in Southeast Florida.. I've seen many 17th and 18th century silver coins recovered from this coastline I've not seen one that sounds like yours could you post a photo of it please?

That's what it seems like.
If it were a military site I would guess it was probably a round ball hammered out.

I am in Asia at the moment so it may be a week or two before I can post a pic-- but I will try and do so

Interesting piece, no real guesses from me. Interesting suggestion that it could be a hoemade token, possibly good for one B - J ? ;)
