Lead something or other...

I found this on the beach today in my 1/2 hour hunt...

It has a "5" or an "S?" on it, and is made of lead. Quite heavy to be a button. If it is a button, I'd hate to be wearing that shirt on a hot, sunny day.

Any ideas? :P

I may be way off but my first thought was some type of weight for maybe a throw net or fishing net.

We call them coat weights here, so the coat would hang without culling up. Hem weight same idea.....link

Wow, that is a monster hem weight, I found a very tiny one that would easily fit thru the center of yours.
