Ok identification gurus of the TNet, here's a good one for you...

I found these items at an old home place today and can;t figure out what one of them is. The hook item seems to be all lead except for the top of it which looks to be copper (maybe brass). The bar shaped one is just that, a bar of lead, the blob looks to be spilled melted lead.

Any ideas out there?

looks to be zinc or pot metal. Due to the normal deterioration of such it usual, is almost impossible to id such. The brass thing might help.

I agree that does not look like lead does a magnet stick to it?

A magnet will not stick to it and I never considered zinc. This sucker is HEAVY and so are the other 2 smaller pieces, that's why I leaned the lead direction.

Is there a definitive test one can do in their home to determine a metals properties?

What does the buttom of relic look like? Just flat base?

Does the brass fitting go all the way through the piece? Maybe it's a spigot for water and the bucket could hang on the hook?

Thanks for looking all.

The bottom is flat, and the copper/brass piece doesn't seem to pass all the way through. The top of the copper/brass is solid, the only perforation is on the side...

I too think it looks like an OSHA approved blower, but it isn't hollow, and it weighs in at 21.4 ounces!
