I hunted like crazy today, fields, woods, cellar holes, swamps: and I found lots of junk and only 4 things maybe worth Sharing. An aluminum bird tag which may date back to when they first reintroduced the Bald Eagles hereabouts, a beat up musket ball, a part of a buckle (perhaps, not sure) and an interesting old pin, which is really why I'm posting today.

The pin has a Sun on it, shining down upon what looks like a globe, and to the right of the globe is an inkwell with a quill in it. It has writing on it, but I can only make out a letter here and there.

It has crusted crud on it so I'm thinking I'll soak it in oil a few days and see if I can loosen the crud up and reveal more detail. If anyone recognises the emblem on the pin, I'd love to know what it is.

It was a nice day to be out in the woods, even though didn't find too much. Good luck to all!

Cool finds. At least you got out and covered more ground. Sometimes it's slim pickings.

pin is cool..bird band is neat too.

the symbolism on pin,to me,indicates divine knowledge..ie seminary alum pin...a simple guess as I thot I could make out the word lamb.look forward to seeing it after cleaning
