If it were a little smaller I would say it was a keeper. I don't mean hold on to it, but the kind of keeper that goes over the sharp point of a lapel pin.

Its probably 100 times bigger than one of those things :D Maybe the worlds largest lapel pin ;D

Half of Madonna's Bra? Excellent! Monty

Looks like the knob you'd find on top of a metal headboard/ brass bed. Or maybe the knob on the end of a curtain rod.

Any pics of one of these? I dont think it would be able to be turned without it falling off, the hole on the bottom is the exact size of a phillips head screwdriver.

Might be an old time ash tray but that still don't explain the screw hole on the bottom. ??? If it was a lemon squeezer it seems to me it would have a pointed top. Nice find anyway. HH

I was also thinking it may be an ashtray. Perhaps there was a weight affixed to the bottom (to hold it still) using the hole in the bottom?

Not a clue Jake,,, sure is an odd looking thing. Definitely before my time...
Kinda looks like one of the scrubbing bubbles that got himself bronzed... ;D
Good luck on the ID, & Happy hunting~
