Let's have another one just like the other one...gold "wanna be" chain & silver

This is really something....a whole year without finding a chain, and within this week I found two......both "bogus" gold.

The chain looks good...but that's as far as it goes ; no stamping; acid test : negative.

1929 "merc" saved the day

Hunted low-tide flat areas with packed maroon -colored sand/ seashells/ small troughs .

Would welcome an ID on the tiny metal fastener image .....looks like an iguana ?

Larraine your little fastener is upside down ,it is a Black hawk emblem off a Black Hawk Pistil or Hand Gun.I use to own one.

Thank you , Crackerjohn; I love finding old coins... but this one fooled me; I usually find "mercs" with thick tarnish on them; this one was not like the others ...thought it was just a dirty clad "Roosevelt" ..until I got home.

The chain was black and dirty when I recovered it in about 5 " of mud; I placed it in "Tarn-X" , and it cleaned up easily.

Thank you very much, Ron for ID'ing that tiny piece of metal. I know nothing about pistols / guns so I would have never figured it out.

Hank thought it was an eagle, but I dissuaded him with my "Iguana" idea ...I'll be sure and tell him that he was correct..thanks again

Your fastener is not from a gun, but from a Dragon Surf clothing item - probably off the arm of a pair of sunglasses given its oval shape...
