Re: Lets See Those Watch & Clock Winders!

Here is one that I found a few weeks ago. There is a sitting dog on one side and a lady on the other.

If I found those other items I might have forgotten about the winder!

Hey Neil,

Here's my best pocket watch winder found in September, 2007, in the same woods as I found the C1815 Militia Belt Plate.

Re: Lets See Those Watch & Clock Winders!

Very nice article. I have never seen a pocket watch that needed a winder, other than the stem winder. We have four clocks passed on to us by parents, to their children that need Winders. Most are made during, or after, the Great Northen Aggression, on us here in the South. I find that as I visit yard sales and pawn shops these Winders are most aways available. I buy one or more if, "I feel a change in the force" I now have winders that fit my all clocks. Its strange, to me that often, visitors or family, will stop the clocks, in the bedrooms, as the ticking makes it hard to fall asleep. Learned something new today. Pocket watch winders.

Re: Lets See Those Watch & Clock Winders!

This one I found Saturday in a Confederate camp in Mississippi. Made of silver and the fanciest watch key I have found in all of my 30 years of relic hunting. Only wish I knew what type of watch it went to. Thanks for looking and allowing me to share my find, James
