I drove to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania today to see my family and show my sisters Fiance how to use his first metal detector. We hit a field and I found a beautiful Musket ball, a very old flat button and a Native American net weight. He is heavy into arrow heads and native american things and has a full room dedicated to it. He scored an old brass knob, an old horse shoe, and a hand pounded stake. He also found some arrow heads. He is the one that identified my native american net weight Here is my scores for the day!

He is starting with a Fisher F2. It was cool because as he was learning it he was also finding arrow heads and I don't know the first thing about them. His metal finds were cool too. I had no idea that rock was a net weight but he said he has found several and was 100 percent that it was that. So I got a musket ball that extremely old judging from the patina on it , the flat button and that. The 2 and a half hour drive was well worth it and he is hooked. He should be joining the forum here shortly!

I almost forgot to ask...That flat button has me curious as always. No Electrolysis on that but maybe some olive oil? I am just curious if I can atleast get any marking on the back of it to show up.

Great finds, Beeps. I know nothing about native artifacts, but I do believe I have seen similar objects identified as a net weight. It's good to see some nice hunts in Pa.
