Liberty Cap Half Cent 179*

Found a pretty toasted Liberty Cap Half Cent yesterday. Is there a way of determining the date based on the head shape and where the pole falls down the neck line? I can see the 179 but can't see the last digit. Thanks!

Based on those long close denticles at the bottom over towards the pole, it appears to be a 1797, not sure of variety but might be a Cohen 2. 1797 Half Cent - Cohen 2
