Hi :hello:

See attached photo's. A friend gave me a Liberty Seated Dime 1876 Plain, that he had found metal detecting around an old High School.

I know it's hard to put a U.S. dollar value and/or ANA Grade on a coin from photo's, but I would appreciate some guesses from the coin experts here.

Thanks much !

First of all, thank you for not cleaning the coin as I can still see some dirt around the edges. You can very gently get that dirt out of there with a Q-tip and fresh water but leave the rest of the coin just as it is. I would grade the coin as Very Fine-35 and give it a value of maybe $15-$20.

Nice coin, hope this helps! :icon_thumleft:

HH all!

Hi Greg !

Thanks much for your help (Yes, it did !). Did you refer to The Official RED BOOK , by Yeoman ? What year ? Mine is an old 2006, 59th Edition and I need to upgrade ! :laughing7:.

Yes Todd, I do refer to the Red Book for grading guidelines but rely on Coin Prices online for up to date pricing.......my Red Book is not much newer, 2009, lol.

HH all!
