Lion Face

Hi guys,
It's been a long time since I posted but I really am curious to see if anyone might be able to identify what this may be off of. It's very unique. The funny thing is I was about to throw it out because I thought it was just a piece of junk metal and I look at it closer and I see an indent from the back and I put it in my pocket and later took it home and I cleaned it off and got this. Unfortunately it has no words to identify it or no back but since there's such a wide knowledge base on here, I figured somebody might possibly know. Here it is. Are the pics of both sides?

Is it 'button size'?

How thick is it?

Close up it looks to have been plated. It seems to have the shape of the top of a piece of flatware.

I don't see anything that resembles a lion's face. Possibly a floral pattern...?

more, apparently the sculptor had not been on safari, as it looks rather doglike, neat hallmark though.

Maybe half of a cloak clasp?
