I have successfully listed and sold over the last two weeks. Today I created 4 different coin auctions then listed them. They show up on my eBay but when I search for them they do not show up in the search. My other current listings show up but not these 4 new ones.

Any ideas why????

i think it says on the final page before you list it that it may take a little while before it shows up on searches. Not 100% sure, but I thought I read that.

I thought that also, but over 2 hours later they were still not showing up, but the countdown on the 3 day auction was down to 2d 21 hours. Maybe I can only have do many auctions at once because I'm only 3 weeks into selling? I'm still not sure.

Thats odd.

No, it wouldn't be that. They would not let you list it if you were at the limit. A big warning pops up on the last screen (where it shows fees, etc)

Post a link to your auctions. Are the coins you are selling common coins, meaning are a lot on Ebay now?

Only Charter members can sell or post Auction listings...

I removed the auctions because the clock was running and they were not visible so I pulled them. They were silver half dollars, 4 coins, one in each auction. I am going to try and re-list tonight

I was asked to post them, but never did. But thanks for the refresher on the rules.

My poat was directed at Deserdog not you, that was why I quoted him. I was informing him why you couldn't post the links..

I rarely do auctions anymore. Most of my listings are Buy it now or Best offer for 30 days. I have on a few occasions had items not show up in the search for a few hours. Most of the time they are there instantly or with in minutes but every now and then they are slow about updating I guess.

Most of the time mine show up quickly. Occasionally still (and it seemed to do it a lot more my first year of selling) it would take every bit of 24 hours. Unless you want to cash quick, may I recommend a least a 5 or 7 day auction run, with it ending on Saturday or Sunday? Gets you good exposure and, with some people checking mainly on the weekends, you can pop up in the searches if the search by ending soonest.

It may be you had filters set on your search criteria that prevented your listings from being displayed. For example, let's say you searched for items with a maximum value of $5.00. Then you opened another tab in your browser, went to My Ebay, and did your listing. If you now go back to the other tab (where you did the search) and search for your items but forget to remove the maximum value filter, your items may not show up in the search results. I have made this mistake before.

Thanks for all the info.

I was looking at the 3 day auction for the coins as silver seems to sell easily and I feel many people are always watching it and would not care to wait 5-7 days. But I may need to go to at least a 5 day and see if it posts.

For an auction, 7 days seems to be optimum. Data says best days to end an auction are Sunday or Monday. I list mostly buy it now these days. I may miss out on the occasional bidding war, but feel I am more likely to sell to an impulse buyer. I had an item listed for auction, had 5-6 watchers but never got the minimum bid. I relisted the following week and the same thing. Then I put it up as a BIN and it sold within hours. I put another up just like it after the first one sold. That one sold in minutes.

Most times coins go into the system right away, at least in the categories I usually use, but some things and some categories, and probably depending on the time listed, can take several hours before they will come up in a search.

I would not list an auction for 3 days, and that's even if I had another 100 coins running and had decent traffic. That's unless I started at a price I was happy with, which I assume wasn't done in this case because there would have been no need to cancel it.

Just an update. I listed the coins again and checked this morning. They are now visible by search and the views are starting to come in. It looks like it took about 6 hours for them show up on ebay. Weird?
