...of a story, no pictures. Today I asked my co-worker Cletus if she had a chance to head-hunt this past weekend, she said no, but Miss Reba's sister did. Now Miss Reba is almost ninety, and her sister is not far behind. It seems the sister has a friend, also up in years, whose house burned down recently. The friend escaped, but had an old arrowhead collection in several frames. so these two elderly women went to the house and sifted through what they could, and found the frames. the boxes were almost destroyed, but they were able to recover a lot of the points, mostly in good shape. I say, NICE FINDS!

That's a nice story, but it's also a sad story.

It's sad that she lost her house, but it's also just awesome that she was able to retrieve something out of the rubble that meant so much to her.

I thought it was poignant, those points must have been special to her, more so now. I'm fascinated with our modern fascination of what's left of our ancestors, we seem to get very attached to these little rocks. Has it ever crossed your mind to grab the frame of arrowheads when you are running through your mind what you might rescue if your house is on fire?

I feel their pain I've been through a house fire myself but luckily the fire didn't get to the room where I had my artifacts. The fire did however gut the rest of the house. Man talk about a pain in the rear end trying to catalogue everything in your house and then have to get current prices to turn into your insurance company. Before I knew if my artifacts survived my insurance agent told me that if you didn't already have your collection appraised that they wouldn't be able to reimburse me for them. I guess its a good idea to have your collection appraised before you suffer a tragedy like that. My heart goes out to your friend and I'm glad they are OK. Thanks for the post.
