In 2020 my son and I found a new location to explore using our sluice box and pans on the North Fork of the American River. This location is extremely remote. Leaving the freeway it takes 45 min of driving to get to the dirt Forest service road. Once on this path it’s another 30 min of extremely rough dirt roads to get where you park the truck. Then it’s a 2.5 mile hike to the river. It’s an amazing location beautiful and worth every bit of effort to get too.

I also picked up a Bounty Hunter 3300 and I can't wait to test it out.

Just fantastic fishingfool. My kind of prospecting. Great partner, simple tools and beautiful country. Uhm, and some very nice gold. A lot of country there to explore.

The fishing fool,

Welcome to TNet from Ohio, nice gold and great scenery. I used to live in Sacramento and have spent some time rafting (beer drinking) on the American River. Question, do you need a claim for the area or is it just open for all - I have never prospected for gold and am just asking for general knowledge. Good luck with your hunting for gold, I am looking forward to watching your next video. V/R Walt

I had a dream the other night that a couple friends and I moved that big boulder I dug behind in the video. That Boulder was sitting on bedrock who knows how many years it hasn't moved.

Lots of room under that rock for stuff to hide
