Finally got out again with my lone star. Found my first quarter, a 1970, and one penny. The penny registered as a silver coin. Anyway, it was fun, but cost me $4 to get into the park.

Sure we all sometimes pay more for entry fees and don't find enough to pay for that plus gas. But you can't count on a profit with this hobby. Even with a couple gold rings, the averages cut that down to zip. Think how much luckier you are than "Billy Bob" and his bass boat, 4X4 to haul it, etc. and he doesn't even eat the fish.
Try to pick on parks with a concession stand, there are more coins.
