Can anyone identify this coin, roughly the size or tad smaller than a dime? what time frame?
I think i see Spanish writing and the very worn side i can make out the number 8.

Half real if 18mm and 1.7 grams; one real if 20mm and3.4 grams. Most likely the 1/2 real.
It's from the reign of Fernando VII (1808-1821). If he is shown with armored bust, the coin was minted between 1808 and 1814. If his image shows a draped bust, the coin was minted between 1814 and 1821.

ok thanks, it is a half reale from 1817. just needed a magnifying glass and more light to make it out.

I concur with a 1/2 reale, Mexico City Mint and Ferdinand VII. Nice find.
