I was out over the weekend in my favorite local metro park. Swing thru the iron patch I catch a scratchy 75-85 and I come up with this beauty.

Well done on getting the Half Penny Token

Your park soils were kind to it, as the condition shows.
Wet heavy clay has a way of making them get that eaten/burnt look.

AMAZING FINDS thanks for posting

Nice find.

I'm in NE Ohio and I found 2 of the Canadian Bank tokens in the same area I got 4 large cents this past winter. They were a first for me as well.

My great grandpa had those in his pocket from time to time, used along the border in Northern Idaho in the late 1800's... along with other odd stuff. In those days the northern forests were being logged for railroad ties and canadian loggers were very present... coin flowed both ways.

A great find that's in excellent condition - congrats !
I've found three or four Canadian Half Penny Tokens but yours is better condition than any of mine.

Thanks! It is very sandy. I have dug 3 largies and a civil war token in the same area and they are all in great shape.
