I’m down South on a family vacation in the mountains. I haven’t been in this part of Virginia in about 20 years, and I’d forgotten how beautiful an area it is...
So I visited a spot not based on any map, but fertile triangular spot between two streams. The adjacent field hasn’t been farmed since the 50’s and I had the necessary permissions. I did about 1-1/2 hours. Lots of slaw, sow buttons, and a nice large cent.

The cows nearby were mooing and it was so peaceful. I love Virginia.

A few buttons made up the majority of non-junk. What a great time. Every time I visit VA I’ve been blessed meeting kind people, good permissions, and nice finds.

The large cent turned out to be a 1843, and the buttons are period as well.
Good digs everyone,
Steve
