I picked this one up on Sunday in one of my usual spots. I just kept telling my husband "this one is different than the other items in the bag, be very careful with it" (meanwhile he is tossing it in the air to be a funny guy - ha ha, not laughing - but I digress).

So I was looking on eBay and found the exact same piece with different markings on the bottom. I asked the seller and of course, no reply.

Just wondering if anyone can confirm or deny the RARITY of this figurine before I list it and look like an A$$.

Thx in advance.

Sellers description on eBay (can't copy link to listing at the moment) - LLADRO #PP132G SWAN NECK BENDING PRE-PRODUCTION PIECE-- Secondary Market Retail Value $1150.00 NO OTHER ON EBAY! VERY HARD TO FIND.

Any Lladro I've seen are in antique stores at a expensive price. You may be better to see the antique folks face to face with it and see what they think of it. It does look very nice and I'll bet its worth some money. You should give us the dimensions of it also.

I've never seen markings like those on any Lladro's that i've bought but there are hundreds of pieces spanning at least three decades. I would try doing a Google search with Lladro and swan and see what you can find. Also, remember there is a big difference between asking price and what you can actually sell it for. The value of these have dropped tremendously over the last 20 years. Nice find and good luck!

This is similar to the piece that I have, but mine has a gloss glaze finish and not a matte finish like the one in the link provided.

Thanks for the information though.

I contacted Mark and Janet. Thank you for their information.

The mark on the bottom is NAO (not Lladro), but I think they are one in the same.

can't help you on the piece, but it does look like a really nice one. I would be having conniptions with someone throwing that in the air, I even sweat as they bag up any of my good finds at good will. I've had too many nice things break over the years, it's always such a shame. Oh Well, he reminds me of my significant other. I had been CRHing for a wisconsin error quarter for months, and when I finally found one I showed it to her as soon as she came home. I'm all excited and what not. she says "let me see that." I give it to her and she says "ok, now if you want this back the kitchen needs cleaning." :laughing7::cat:
