sorry about all the pics still learning cant figure how to do multi pics and need to learn how to delete an extra one that I didn't mean to print then I got 2 or 3 just posted what I could its dinner time

...that looks like fun time. Do you use a tickler stick and fish net? I watched a video all about. That boat is rigged different than others Ive seen, is it for diving specific or setting traps?
Do you catch horse conches too? Do you eat them?

Use a tickle stick and net and have to have a lobster gauge in the water with you. Thats my 17 foot skiff usually fishing. Been metal detecting out of it a lot this summer. just got done eating some lobster. The horse conchs I wave to them yes you can eat them. I have a hundred foot hose connected to a scuba tank I leave in the boat then go down a few feet for the lobster, it is a lot of fun get to see many different kinds of marine life

... will you set some pots during that season?
... do you bow hunt off the deck?
... is that a crane to pull boat out of water and put in?
... I don’t mind all the trouble with posting pics, it makes me feel better about mine being sideways or upside down.

Mark well done and nice pictures..It’s truly amazing to see all the great things people can do in Florida.

Heading to Maine in a few weeks...we plan to consume lobstah.

Nice!!!! Yummm!!!!

I don't set any traps, If i need some for a recipe I just go to a couple of spots were they hang out and get enough for a meal. These are called boat davits, you hook a line to the lifting rings on the boat hit the switch and the boat lifts out of the water. This way you can sleep better at night when its raining , you don't have to worry about it sinking or getting stolen. Its very safe way to store your boat, if you go out of town I turn off the power to the dock so nobody else can lower the boat into the water and use it while i'm gone. I will have to get Bart to give me a couple of tips on posting pics.

Each tip cost 1 lobster tail..:laughing7:....just kidding, nice work mark !! I stayed home and took the day off. I have plenty of friend that are willing to share, and im sure in the next few weeks ill be chasing lobsters at work. I like taking the boss out to catch lobsters, and I get to do it for pay. Man I love my job !! Seems like its gonna be a great mini season....lots of lobsters out there !! Good luck Mark get some more today !!

Be careful of the googans out there.....they'll run ya over tryin to find da bugs bra !! The island provides !!

Lots of boat trAFFIC, always have to look out for the other guy Im anchored they are just not paying attention got to stay close to da boat, people will do anything to catch a lobster and try to push you off your spot. Yup going out to day we are just going to do the tide change at the bridge, thats when the current gets a lot slower makex it more comfortable to dive, those lobster love structure they think they can hide.

Your crazy mark....those bridges are scary....sharks, jewfish, hooks wire and tackle all tangled everywhere !! Be careful bud...good luck and catch em up !!

Great lobster!
And thanks for saying "tickle stick", because it takes me back to 2018 when my son and I attended the Boy Scout's Sea Base Adventure Camp located in the Florida Keys (https://www.bsaseabase.org). Sea Base is one week as the crew of a 46' sailboat: six Scouts, me + another parent and the captain. We did some lobster fishing with tickle sticks and some little tunny fishing too.
Trip of a lifetime - thanks for reminding me of it!

A lobster the Scouts caught (we cooked the lobster we caught along with three little tunny on the back deck of the boat as dinner one evening!):

And I made a whole movie about the adventure (this is just the 2 min "trailer"; the full movie was 12 minutes long and shown to all the parents and then used by the Troop to show future Scouts the kinds of adventures they went on):

great video like that sound track of a true adventure I live pretty close to the seabase in islamorada. I see you worked your crew pretty hard as they were takin it easy on the way home

Hey Bart its the Jewfish that scare me the most when they get so big they get a little aggressive. when they are real big I feel like a piece of bait , when they start making that thumping nose that means your in there territory make me get out of the water a couple times.

For the people who don't know what a jewfish/Goliath grouper is !! At about the 1:50 mark you will see some. I was scared they would eat the phone out of my hand !!
