Hello all,
Just joined this site as I am rockhounding areas of Middle TN as I explore different areas. I've found this rock in the creek behind my house and need help to identify. Any help is appreciated. If this turns out to be something worth keeping, what would be the best route to have it cut and polished? I don't have that capability.

25 July update. Included whole rock photos. Both wet and dry.

Looks like agate nodules. Would make pretty jewelry but it's expensive to have it cut.

Kacsmar, that first pic is interesting. The stone appears porous, and the agate filled in the pores. :occasion14:

Welcome from the far PNW.

That’s agatized coral. The little circles are polyps. Coral in TN?🤔 That’s a new one on me! What county did you find it in?

I tried searching for lapidarists in TN, but all that came up were the rock & mineral clubs and rock shops.

I would start with the Mid-Tennessee Gem and Mineral Society, and expand out from there.
