The photos show:
Creek being hunted
Samples of rocks taken
Laminated sedimentary piece I liked.

The high luster black rocks are favored by the grandkids. I keep the snow white quartz too. The crescent-shaped piece looked like a shaft scraper, in situ (not so much once home). Tan chalcedony with a cool hole. 2 that looked like points, in situ.
Finally, the laminated piece. Very little color contrast between layers. Heavier and less “crumbly” than most sandstone and limestone I find.
I kept about 4 pounds of rocks, altogether. Spring is coming. I’ll need more for the rock gardens.
Thanks for looking.

It's always good to get out, whether you make amazing finds or not! I'm like you, every flat spot in my house is covered in little rocks I find interesting, or rocks from places I've traveled.
