Longest brass I’ve found

Can’t find much info except that it was single-shot. This one must have jammed, as the primer is still intact.

I figure the guy jammed up, took the Lead, and discarded the case because it was crinkled. Just speculating!

Winchester 38-90 express seems only used in the winchester 1885 single shot rifle 217grn. bullet at 1525 fps. Case length 3.25" Good find.

38-90 a civilian cartridge compared to a 45-70

Think I know what happened...chambered first round..primer went off but blackpowder was wet..ejected it and slapped the round you found into chamber and mashed into first bullet and then stuck 2 bullets into barrel..had a real mess then!!!
