Got it all together and out the door I went :laughing7: I watched a couple of you tube vids last night and new enough to power it up. Made sure it was in normal mode and on coins, witch I assume is by default when you power it up:dontknow:

Nothing special but at least I got out and gave it a test run :headbang:

Congratulations on the addition to the family.

Best of luck!

You have the best all terrain detector love mine. Skip normal mode and start working Pro mode zero, max sensitivity and I run 32 on the iron. After you get some time on it I highly recommend Grey ghost headphones they transform this into the detector it was made to be. Dig all signals until you get used to them. If it's iffy raise the coil gradually over the target and if it stays solid it's usually good, if it breaks up it's usually bad. Good luck

This is the secound time I have read suggesting this method. So thank you and I am hoping to get more time on the AT Pro this weekend and will try out this method. I know I will, but not sure on how much. We are having a family graduation cook out for my son so busy weekend. I do have today off but no detecting, got the Weber Smoker going to make a tray of pulled pork plus other preparations to be done.

You're gonna like the AT&T Pro. The more I use mine, the more I understand it's language, and the more I find. As MackDog said, dig everything.

Christmas came early for you. Great choice of equipment.

Congrats on your new weapon! Your going to like it. Be sure to listen to the sound. It will tell you alot. HH

PS 5x8 coil:headbang:

Don't take it out of hot car and into water as it may leak. Good Luck:occasion14:

Just wanted to give an update - Ran the AT Pro at "zero Pro" w/iron disc set at 38 and it was a great start on learning my detector and the signals and numbers. How ever took it out today and towards the end of my time I realized it was not on "Pro zero" but "Standard zero" with same disc and was still able to have a pretty good feel on the "tones and numbers. I assume the numbers will be the same on either "Pro" or "standard" mode :dontknow:

I use the Gray Ghost headphones on my ATP as suggested by Mack Dog & congrats to you on your buy. You might consider putting in a coin - jewelry & trash garden for practice. Clad coins - broken jewelry - pull tabs - square tabs - aluminum can slaw - rusty nails starting at 3" to 8". Deepest coin so far with my ATP is a clad quarter at 8.5" & I carry a small measuring tape to verify the depths. Wish you many finds while out dirt fishin.

Congrats on the new toy. MackDog shared some great advice. It has taken me a long while to distinguish (to some degree) a good signal from a bottle cap. The only difference is I normally won't run max sensitivity. I back it off 1 or 2 settings. Grey Ghost headphones make all the difference. You're going to love the AT Pro. Good luck with it.

Standard gives you the bell tones, pro mode gives distinct tones and they are audibly proportional with the depth of the target. Once you get used to the sweet whine of a deep silver you'll be able to pick it out of all the iron. By running Pro you gain a lot of depth. ALso scrub the coil on the ground if possible (coilo cover definitely required). Another tip is the Big Nels (STorm, Big nEL) WILL GO DEEPER BUT THEIR MAIN ADVANTAGE IS THEY COVER SO MUCH MORE GROUND
