Looking for places to hunt

Hi I am brand new to metal detecting and I live in the Woodstock,Eastford are of CT. If any body has any tips for me on where i can hunt or anything else let me know send me a PM or reply to thread.

I can tell you most of the well known spots have been done to death.
You will need to get off the known paths to find hot spots.
I won't tell you the spots but hit the local Libraries and find the old maps and go from there. Someone whom quit metal detecting a while ago gave all research he did to my Bro in law to give to me. He had a lot of good info and I still have it to this day.
