Any of y'all holding any authentic Republic of Texas Currency?

I'm looking for a few examples to add to my library... I am interested in fair or even poor examples... Tears/cuts/cancels/or even incomplete notes.

If you are holding any, please let me know as I am interested!

Most gun shows around here feature a bill and coin dealer and there are two places(Medlar's) and Alamo Coin Shop that deal in them. They are getting more expensive as I type, but they are still available in San Antonio...

Thanks for the info.
I wasn't aware of Medlar's. I will have to contact them I suppose.

I'm kinda disappointed... The few times I wanted to acquire currency-related items, I could get in contact with a dealer, and they were more than willing to keep eyes and ears open, acquire items and then contact me to see if I'm interested. Kinda broker a deal as a middleman. I didn't mind paying a bit extra because they helped me as "scouts" or whatever.

I recently asked a local coin shop If they could take my info down and contact me if they came across any of a certain item, and I got told a pretty much flat out "no, that's inconvenient for me."

Bump.

Bump (again).

Yes, the coin shops here are spending all their time now doing silver and gold buys. Not even much related to coin collecting there anymore. I haven't seen much ROT currency around here either, the ones I've seen are replicas.

Thanks for the insight guys... I'm somewhat aware of the coin shops seemingly not having ROT currency, lord knows I've called around quite a bit.

I'm hoping mainly that there is a TNET member out there with some stashed away that they are willing to part with.

Please pardon the "bumps"... Every couple of days I am just trying to get this on the top of the current post list for as much visibility as possible.

If I don't get a response in the next week or two from a seller, I'll abandon the effort.

Bump!

Still Looking!

Last bump!

It's been 2 months... Maybe something's changed!

Bump!

Try going to the Houston Money show in December... There will definitely be several examples for sale by several dealers I know.

Try estate sales. You may get lucky...

Ive actually wanted to get one or two myself, But Im so paranoid about buying fakes from people...It seems so easy to make fake EVERYTHING these days..Good Luck in your hunt

I don't know a lot about them however I know their rare and highly desirable I always thought it would be cool to see on in person

Im sure you will find a cache of them soon...

They are out there. They are expensive. As I posted before. Medlars in San Antonio has some, but again, they are expensive. My friend has a bunch because she and mom are Daughters of the Republic of Texas(Missions Chapter) and the family was here with Stephen F. Austin. They and other daughters have a bunch. And no, I have nothing anymore. Donated, sold, given away. Found out (in a dream) that you can't take it with you. Still working on that. And YES, there are fakes. Be cautious...

Hahaha jokes over I moved on and I recommend you do the same
