Looking for San Juan Colorado Gold - Engagement Ring

I am intending to propose this winter and am designing the engagement ring. Our relationship began in the San Juan’s around Silverton and I thought it would be really special to use gold mined/found from the area. Is this possible? How might I go about sourcing enough Southwest Colorado gold for an engagement ring?

How many grams will they weigh?
Do you have a good spot to dig with good gold?

If i was guessing id say 1/10 gram would be a good day after you find it up there.

Its probably possible if you have 5 years and can get up there on most weekends.

I would search for a custom jeweler in Durango, they may know someone getting that gold! It might be tough to find someone mining it.

Just hers. Idk anything about jewelry but google says 3-7 grams should be enough. A local jeweler is a great idea. Thank you

I talked to this guy Dave Houtz once about reproducing a part of an 18th century sterling piece I have at his shop Rocky Mountain Jewelry in Ridgeway, Colorado. https://www.telluridenews.com/the_watch/news/article_c5ade858-307b-11e9-96cf-1771f72e034e.html That was maybe 5 or 6 years ago and he was willing to take a look at what it take to do the job. He made some beautiful jewelry in both silver and gold and might even know of a connection to obtain actual gold mined from the San Juan Mountains.
