I've been itching to hunt again, its been about 3 years and i miss it. Its huge fun i just dont know where some good spots are. I know its hard to get that kind of info out of other hunters but i thought what the hell im smalltime figured some body would throw me a bone. i like out of the way spots grown over old towns stuff like that. parks are very trashy in dayton and to many people. Thanks to anybody who might wanna help i have a spectrum xlt and i love it even with the inch of dust on it, lol. Also if any one in dayton is looking to hunt with let me know. I pass alot of old houses on the outskirts of town that are empty they look perfect somewhere like that would be great. Thanks, Michael..

bluegrass......Most hunters kind of resent being asked. The most productive out there do lots of research to find their sites and get ticked when you ask them to give their sites away. Many of us like old homes and if they look like they have good potential, just knock and ask. That simple. If you are not inclined to do the research then parks, and schools are about your only option. Even the public places are starting to prohibit metal detecting so better check your local laws. Another good option is to find a local club and go to their next meeting. May pick up a hunting partner there and get some advise . Best of luck.

Mike, Tnguns gave you good advice. You have dirt all around you and all the ground is old enough where anyone from years past could have lost something anywhere. How many research books do you have? Start with The New Successful Coin Hunting by Charles Garrett and go from there as Garrett has many good books. Then you wouldn't have to ask. I hope you can retrieve a coin and be able to look back and not be able to tell you were there.
