hello prospector, i am relatively new to the prospecting game and am in search of an ol timer, a miner or a person with extensive knowledge in rocks and minerals. i have been doing lots of reading on gold and how and where to find it. I live in colorado and have been spending a lot of time on google earth and i believe i may have found something very interesting but i need more knowledge of the mineral associated with gold. In my searches i have found a section of ground that appears to be different from all the surrounding. This ground color is red which indicates to me that there is iron in the ground. i have also found another spot on google earth where the snow on the upper part of the mountain has like red waves in it... does this indicate that ever time it rains it washes down some of the minerals exposed? i do have pics to show whom ever is interested.
