✅ SOLVED Looks Like a Cast Iron Rolling Pin--Help!!

Found in the park across the road where an 1800's mill once stood.

Is tapered/grooved and has some kind of adjustment knob at the smaller end. As usual quite heavy.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

doubt a rolling pin, would need 2 handles and not tapered
Lightning rod?
Spindle of some sort?

the right side looks like it has a cut out for a pin or bolt to hold it in place,spindle or axle sounds right.

I don't think it's an antique clock weight. But the thought did come to mind.
